Natural Gas Appliance Rebates
ARE YOU READY TO SAVE MONEY AND ENERGY ON NATURAL GAS APPLIANCES FOR YOUR HOME?
The City of Long Beach is offering home energy-efficiency rebates on natural gas products for residential customers.
Most qualifying products will require a finalized permit. Please contact the Community Development Department Permit Center at (562) 570-7648 to confirm if your product will require a permit. If applications requiring permits are received without proof of permit closure after finalized inspection, they will be considered incomplete and will not be processed.
WHAT ENERGY-EFFICIENCY UPGRADES QUALIFY FOR REBATES?
Energy-Efficient Residential Freestanding Natural Gas Oven
$100 Rebate on qualifying(PDF, 156KB) energy-efficient residential freestanding natural gas ovens.
Limit one per household. Must be replacing an existing natural gas oven and must be listed on the qualifying model list.
ENERGY STAR Certified Natural Gas Dryer
$70 rebate on an ENERGY STAR certified natural gas dryer with a CEF of 3.48 or greater.
Only one rebate per household. Must be replacing an existing natural gas dryer. Check to see if your model qualifies at ENERGY STAR.
ENERGY STAR Certified Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater
$80 to $1,200 rebate on various high-efficiency or ENERGY STAR certified natural gas tankless water heaters. Long Beach permit required.
$80 rebate with a UEF of 0.82 - 0.86
$800 rebate with a UEF of 0.87 - 0.94
$1,000 rebate with a UEF of 0.95
$1,200 rebate with a UEF of 0.96 or above
Only storage water heater to tankless water heater replacements qualify for a rebate. Min 0.82 UEF to qualify. Check for your model's UEF at AHRI.
High-Efficiency Natural Gas Storage Water Heater
$75 rebate on high-efficiency natural gas storage water heaters (up to 55 gallons). Long Beach permit required.
Natural Gas Fireplace Insert
$300 to $500 rebate on various natural gas fireplace inserts. Qualifying units(PDF, 185KB) must have an electronic pilot ignition. Long Beach permit required.
$300 rebate on qualifying natural gas fireplace inserts - Tier I (70-74.9% FE)
$500 rebate on qualifying natural gas fireplace inserts - Tier II (75% FE or greater)
Natural Gas Pool Heater
$400 to $750 rebate on natural gas pool heaters, up to 500,000 btu. See the attached Pool Heater List(PDF, 108KB) for qualifying models. Long Beach permit required.
ENERGY STAR Certified Natural Gas Furnace
Receive a $1.15 to $14 per kBtuh rebate on an ENERGY STAR certified natural gas furnace. Long Beach permit required.
$1.15 per kBtuh rebate - 92 - 94% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)
$4.60 per kBtuh rebate - 95 - 96% AFUE
$14 per kButh rebate - 97% AFUE or above
Energy-Efficient Residential Natural Gas Wall Oven
$300 Rebate on qualifying(PDF, 156KB) energy-efficient residential natural gas wall ovens.
Limit one per household. Must be replacing an existing natural gas wall oven and must be listed on the qualifying model list.
HOW TO APPLY:
2024 Application: Download the 2024 EERP Application(PDF, 657KB) for items purchased and installed January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024. The application must be postmarked no later than February 15, 2025, to be eligible for the rebate.
